Hotel Tips

Reserve rooms on the upper floors that face the square in front for a postcard view of Plaza Mayor, particularly beautiful during the golden time of the day shot. Rooftop terrace is quiet and great most mornings at sun-up for a blow-out breakfast or evening drinks.

Ask the staff about local olive oil mills — some of the guests have been raving about fabulous private tours that aren’t widely advertised. Do not miss the hidden gem in the town: the Mudejar-style Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, only three minutes on foot.

Longer stays consider taking out bikes through the hotel to ride around the nearby olive groves and country roads. And for foodies there’s an off-the-beaten-path Bar Rafa- 6 minutes to the great tunes of home Andalusian cooking at very special prices.

Check over the weekend if there’s a live flamenco night at the cultural center next door—can get last-minute seats. Since the hotel doesn’t have a lift, ask for a room on the ground floor if traveling with heavy luggage or in cases of mobility.

Air conditioning is silent and works well, so it’s been comfortable enough to stay during the summer. Sundays are extremely quiet- be sure to get essentials on Saturday afternoon as most stores close early.
